Mt Gunyan is located approximately 4km north-east of the Twin Hills Mine, and is a mesothermal disseminated silver deposit with elevated lead on the hanging wall and elevated zinc on the footwall, with potential massive sulphide mineralisation at depth.
Extensive exploration drilling was undertaken between 1994 and 2004, which highlighted Mt Gunyan as the next most likely source of ore feed for the heap leach facility at Twin Hills.
As a result, further drilling was undertaken at Mt Gunyan during 2007 – 2008. Best results included:
A new resource estimate for Mt Gunyan was announced in March 2010 comprising 2.1 million tonnes at 73g/t silver for 4.9 million ounces of contained silver (click here to see full JORC Resource).
Mt Gunyan is a priority exploration target for the Company and the project area will be subject to further drilling and analysis over the next 12 to 18 months.
